Updated February 4th, 2025: The Air Jordan 5 “Medium Soft Pink” is expected to feature two fan-favorite qualities that played a role in the model’s original 1990 run. According to @zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files, “Nike Air” text will appear on the heel, and stitched, collegiate-style “23” text will grace the lateral sides. No release date has been confirmed at the time of this writing, but the shoe is expected to arrive in men’s sizing during the Holiday 2025 shopping season. Original article published December 10th, 2024: The 40th anniversary of Jordan Brand is unquestionably the biggest sneaker headline heading into 2025, motivating a swath of eyebrow raising and neck breaking releases queued up for the new year. However, don’t sleep on the Air Jordan 5 celebrating its 35th anniversary, a subterranean propellant that’s already led to news of the Awake Jordan 5, Jordan 5 “Fire Red,” and of course, the “Black Metallic Reimagined.” Another entrant is now stepping into the fray, with reports of an Air Jordan 5 “Medium Soft Pink” now hitting the newswire.

Reports of this release confirm the color palette: a blend of “White/Medium Soft Pink/Black.” Given the simplistic color codes, it should expectedly result in a relatively reigned-in overall palette. Arguably the biggest development, outside of learning about this pair in the first place, is the sizing — rather than the women’s exclusive tag that follows most pink Jordans, these will be opened to the male demographic as well. If nothing else, it’ll provide a modern option for those who sought after the Jordan 5 “Shy Pink” in its original run on in the years since, finally widening the scope of that LS pair’s primary tones.
