The Nike Air Flight 89 Taps Into Its Jordan DNA With “Bred”

A circa-1989 look for the Air Jordan 4's sister model.

The Nike Air Flight 89 Taps Into Its Jordan DNA With “Bred”

Quiet as kept, the Nike Air Flight 89 Low has been holding down fans of the retro hoops aesthetic with a steady stream of versatile looks. While the new low-top formulation kicked off its run with white-dominant colorways in according with an antiquated NBA dress code, we’ve since seen the shoe expand its breadth with a handful of earthy, suede looks. For its next trick, the Air Flight 89 Low takes note from Jordan Brand with timeless “Bred.”

Nike Inc. has long been privy to blur the lines between its sub-brands, but while some colorway adoptions land awkwardly, this one couldn’t be more fitting. The Air Flight 89 released the same year as the Jordan 4 and is largely thought of as its “sister model,” sharing a sole with the MJ signature. Of course, “Bred” was one of the original AJ4 colorways released back in 1989.

Official images reveal a mostly black leather upper with “Gym Red” on the lining, forefoot piping, and branded elements. The midsole incorporates “Gym Red” on the top portion, giving way to a white center section and black/white outsole.

The Air Flight 89 Low “Bred” will release via nike.com and retailers during the Spring 2025 shopping season, marked with an MSRP of $140. Enjoy official images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page for more.
