Original article published November 7th, 2024:

Ja Morant’s second signature shoe rollout is complete with the Nike Ja 2 “In The Woods,” the fifth and final colorway previewed in September 2024 as part of the shoe’s official introduction. While we’ve yet to hear of a firm release date, new images posted to Instagram by @weocia provide us a glimpse at what to expect.

The “In The Woods” nickname might imply a palette of brown and green, but the shoe actually comes in white with blue and tan accents. Perhaps the “woods” in question has a lot of birch trees? In any case, these clean up nicely. Just as we saw with the inaugural Stargazer Ja 2, the lateral quarter once again features a radial pattern centered around the Swoosh. The logo itself comes in royal blue, treated with clever detailing reminiscent of topographic maps to suit the theme. A tan leather heel section provides a seamless transition underfoot, where more tan paint appears on the forefoot and heel sections of the midsole. Nike also adds subtle black paint-splattered detailing for good measure.

While the new Ja Morant shoe doesn’t figure to appeal directly to lifestyle-focused consumers (unlike Devin Booker’s Nike Book 1), this is by far the most versatile, palatable colorway we’ve seen to date.

The Nike Ja 2 “In The Woods” doesn’t gave a solid release date at the time of this writing, but will likely arrive in late 2024/early 2025.
