Mars Blackmon Appears On This Jordan Spiz’ike Low For Kids

Jordan Brand celebrated the 35th anniversary of Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing (1989) back in June with a super-limited Spiz’ike Low that released exclusively in New York. Now a few months later, the new low-top formulation is circling back with another colorway inspired by Lee’s filmography.

The shoe stands out by way of an illustration on the lateral mudguard. Spike Lee’s Mars Blackmon character peeks out, sporting his hallmark ballcap complete with “Jordan” text under the brim and text reading “Spiz’ike Was Here” alongside it. To the uninitiated; Lee’s alter ego comes to us from She’s Gotta Have It (1986) and was utilized famously in Spike Lee-produced Air Jordan commercials from the 1980s.

White leather and grey elephant print panels comprise the core of the shoe, complemented by red Jumpman branding and green laces. Importantly, the same palette was utilized on an original Spiz’ike colorway from 2006 and the aforementioned “Do The Right Thing” release from June.

Unfortunately for most fans of Lee’s work, these appear to be a Grade School exclusive and are not expected to release for adults at the time of this writing. However, if you’re trying to teach your kid about sneaker and Jordan Brand history, these are a great way to do so. Enjoy official images below and look for these to hit shelves in late 2024/early 2025 if interested.
