Nike has officially confirmed that it is working with Tom Sachs again, resuming a partnership that went on an indefinite hiatus in May of 2023 following severe allegations by Sachs’ former employees. In a call with Sneaker News, Nike representatives have confirmed that the Mars Yard 3.0 sneaker will be releasing in 2025.
In May of last year, Nike’s union with the American artist was paused after former employees accused Sachs of operating with a toxic work culture and a “cult-like” atmosphere in his studio hinging on bullying and sexism. Following those allegations, Nike hit the brakes on upcoming projects and sneaker releases, affirming that “We are not working with Tom’s studio at this time and have no release dates planned.”
Following the announcement of the continued partnership earlier today, Nike has shared with Sneaker News official statements both by the brand and Tom Sachs, reaffirming the artist’s commitment to fostering a positive atmosphere that hinges on respect and inclusivity. Nike also shared a teaser image of the Mars Yard 3.0 set to release in 2025.

Official statement by Tom Sachs
I’m honored that we will continue to build together as a Nikecraft team and community. The Mars Yard 3.0 is in its final stage of development and is currently being wear-tested. I’m excited to share more soon.
The partnership officially started in 2012 with the release of the ground-breaking Mars Yard 1.0 and accompanying capsule, though the relationship between brand and artist began well before that launch. After the success of the initial shoe came a series of other hits including the Mars Yard 2.0, the Overshoe, and the General Purpose Shoe — its most recent offering.
