Kai Cenat and Nike dotswoosh Announce The Air Max 1 “Low Poly”

Back in July, Kai Cenat made major headlines as the first streamer signed to Nike. While the AMP head’s proclivity for sneakers is well-documented at this point, we’d yet to see any major activations or collaborative product come out of the new relationship. That’s about to change. Nike’s Web3 .SWOOSH initiative just dropped a slew of promo set to deliver on both of those categories.

It’s unclear whether Cenat is a true “collaborator” on it, but the Nike Air Max 1 “Low Poly” is the spotlighted shoe here, adapting the digital concepts abound in the .SWOOSH catalog onto the iconic Tinker Hatfield design. A concept of the shoe is rendered within an in-browser game (check it out for yourself here) showcasing rigid panels on the timeless “University Red” colorway.

Shortly after the initial info dump, Cenat starred in an unboxing, revealing that the Nike Air Max 1 “Low Poly” keeps a similar overall shape, but the wavy mudguard and curved Swoosh are each given ridged edges. In something of an optical illusion, the mesh takes on a gradient look meant to mirror the angled look of the in-game model.

On social media, .SWOOSH also shared a sneak peek at Cenat’s end of things. A short promo clip showcases the Bronx native entering a one-to-one replication of his now-iconic Atlanta streaming setup, the “Low Poly” motif manifesting with pixelated cheetah print carpet and PS2-esque arcade machines in the background. .SWOOSH’s creative streak means that just a simple sponsored stream likely isn’t the end goal here, but further details regarding their plans with Kai Cenat haven’t come about just yet.

.SWOOSH has announced that a pre-order for the Air Max 1 “Low Poly” will go live on October 8th, 2024 for $150; orders will ship roughly 120 days after the order.
