Original article published September 13th, 2024: It’s been a quiet year for the Air Jordan 12 all things considered, only a GS “Vapor Green” pair and the “Red Taxi” colorways released so far in 2024. The final stretch of the year is poised to change that, surpassing that output in just the last legs of Q3 and Q4. One of the more hotly anticipated releases for Mike’s 12th signature is now just around the corner. Right on time, official looks at the Air Jordan 12 “Barons” just went up, giving us our best look at this colorway yet.
As the AJ12 tends to be, the profile here is easily digestible, a two-tone split between jet black and titular “Wolf Grey.” Those darker shades are interrupted briefly with the sole pattern that peeks through, tinted to a lighter grey in that underfoot application. What this pair may lack in overall flair, it certainly makes up for in refined atmosphere and inherent storytelling, obviously connecting to the GOAT’s Birmingham triple-A days.
Looking ahead on the calendar, this “Wolf Grey” might be the most coveted launch, but it won’t be your only chance to nab a pair of 12s. Editions like the Air Jordan 12 “Blueberry,” SoleFly Jordan 12 and “Phantom” in the closing weeks of the year will make this a great year to be a fan of the 12 when all is said and done.
