Nike Is Bringing Back The Shox R4 In Original 2000 Colors

A debut colorway returns after 5 years on ice.

Nike Is Bringing Back The Shox R4 In Original 2000 Colors

A lot can change in 24 years. Vince Carter went from sporting Nike’s brand new Shox technology as a high-flying future face of the league, to making headlines in an entirely different way as the league’s all-time leader in games played. However, Nike is ensuring that their Shox R4 is untouched two decades and change later. As a part of an ongoing retro push for the silhouette, they’re rolling the model out in one of its very first colorways.

Conservatively clad with a split between black & metallic silver, it’s not hard to see why this outfit was the choice to introduce the Shox R4. Fire red accents in scattered applications up top, and crucially, on the cylindrical propulsion under the heel allow that proprietary tech to stand out all the more. The tri-tone split is mirrored on the outsole, with that fiery hue again standing apart as it dots the anchors of the Shox unit underfoot. The last release for this specific colorway came in 2018/2019, kicking off the previous retro effort for the model before this year’s initiative.
