Original article posted August 16th, 2024: With the revival of Deion Sanders’ signature shoe line, Nike has positioned this 1990s-era footwear line-up to break new ground in 2024 to both the millenial and Gen Z generations of sneakerheads. Dropping earlier this year in the original Black/Yellow colorway, the Air DT Max ’96 gets a new colorway that reflects Coach Prime’s updated resume.
Appearing in black and gold, this classic all-purpose training shoe is intended to match the uniforms of the Colorado Buffaloes, a football program helmed by the dual-sport legend. The street version of the Diamond Turfs feature a black suede upper with tear-away die-cut uppers revealing the gold underneath as if the shoes are ripping through the grass. Further golden accents surround make subtle appearances on the Swoosh logo on the upper.
This off off-the-field issue will be available on September 2nd on SNKRS and select Nike retailers listed below for $170. A white “Away” version is set to follow on September 16th.
