The adidas MAD IIINFINITY Surfaces In “Core Black/Red”

Who could have imagined that the adidas Kobe 1 (now dubbed the Crazy 1) would eventually inform a significant chunk of adidas’ retro basketball line? It was one of the most controversial sneakers of all time and perhaps one of the reasons why Kobe brought his talents to Nike in 2003, but nonetheless, the infamous model has spawned a handful of new offshoots in recent years. One of them, the adidas MAD IIINFINITY, just surfaced in “Core Black/Red” makeup for Fall 2024.

adidas may have had high hopes for the ambitious new retro-inspired shoe as evidence by an NBA All-Star Weekend rollout back in February, but the MAD IIINFINITY hasn’t stirred up much buzz as some may have predicted. Even still, there’s a sizable segment of consumers out there that are drawn to any product with Black Mamba DNA, meaning there might be more potential to tap into.

This “Core Black/Red” pair resembles the third MAD IIINFINITY we’ve seen surface thus far, taking a page out of Jordan Brand’s catalog with a familiar “Bred” palette. Aside from sporadic accents on the midsole and upper, the design communicates a stealthy aesthetic so as to let the unique nature of the model take over.

The adidas MAD IIINFINITY “Core Black/Red” drops July 25th for $180 in Europe, but we’re still waiting on firm US release info. Know that our Sneaker Release Dates page will be kept current with all the latest details as they emerge.
