First Look At The Nike Air More Uptempo Low

Some bold changes to one of the most beloved sneakers ever.

First Look At The Nike Air More Uptempo Low

The Air More Uptempo is arguably one of the most recognizable sneakers ever created. Designed by Wilson Smith, this sneaker acted as a billboard for Nike’s AIR technology, proudly stating the arrival of full-length visible Air to a Nike Basketball shoe. Most commonly associated with Scottie Pippen, the Air More Uptempo has seen endless iterations of the model hit store shelves, and its bold spirit still remains lively as the Olympic Uptempos are set to release in the middle of August.

Later in 2024, Nike will embark on its most transformative take on the model yet. These first images reveal a lower-cut silhouette of the Air More Uptempo with the upper “AIR” lettering stylized in a new manner via a padded mesh. The jeweled Swoosh logo on the heel has also been updated with a smaller, more modern look, while the signature roped pull-tabs on the tongue and heel have been swapped for a more standard ribbon. The tooling of the bottoms remains the same.

The Air More Uptempo did receive a transformation into a low-top at the hands of AMBUSH’s Yoon Ahn for her collaboration, but that execution was truer to the original build. This version makes significant efforts to update the look, although loyal fans of the Air More Uptempo may not fully embrace the model yet.

Alongside this all-white colorway are several other styles set for a release this Fall/Winter season for $170, stay tuned for further previews.
