Up There Looks To The Australian Bush For Their ASICS GEL-Terrain

A worldwide launch is expected on July 6th.

Up There Looks To The Australian Bush For Their ASICS GEL-Terrain

For the third year in a row, Australia’s Up There has tag-teamed with ASICS to bring forth the familiar sights of the shop’s home base. Having worked on the GT-II and GEL-Lyte III in years prior, Up There set its sights on the modern GEL-Terrain — a fitting silhouette given the continent’s vast and open terrain.

Focusing on the Australian bush, Up There relies on a color palette of a faded mauve, lavender, and grey that bleed out during the autumn season. The touches of bright acid yellow and hot red are meant to mimic the veins seen on the leaves of the natural flora. Injecting a hiking aesthetic is the carabiner that comes attached to the laces, which can be worn with and without the shoes.

The GEL-Terrain itself is built with a no-sew construction for that streamlined, aerodynamic appeal. Taking heavy inspiration from the GEL-Fujitrabuco and the GT-2000, the GEL-Terrain has since proliferated in a number of in-line models since its debut last Fall.

Already launching at Up There as well as on display at the brand’s pop-up location in Paris during the recent Fashion Week schedule of events, the Up There ASICS GEL-Terrain is set for a wider launch on ASICS.com and select retailers on July 6th, 2024 for $180.
