“Burgundy Crush” Accents The Nike Air Flight 89

The Air Jordan 4 isn’t the only retro basketball shoe celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. It’s sister silhouette, the Nike Air Flight 89, continues to surface sporadically in both archival Nike Basketball colorways and unique collaborative looks from actors like PJ Tucker and Stüssy.

This “Burgundy Crush” pair falls within the former of those two categories, complete with “Phantom” hits on the eyestays and midsole so as to produce a fitting, pre-aged aesthetic. Ties to the Jordan 4 shine through prominently underfoot as the Air Flight 89 features almost the exact same midsole, but the upper’s shape and design language strike familiar notes as well. While not necessarily an OG colorway, standard color blocking offers a similar appealing quality to all those fond of 1980s hoops shoes.

These issues rarely have firm release dates, but the Air Flight 89 “White/Burgundy Crush/Phantom” should hit retailers in the near future for $140. Scroll through official images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview more upcoming drops from the Beaverton brand.
