Nike Unveils The Zoom Spiridon OG Retro

Back for the first time since 2016.

Nike Unveils The Zoom Spiridon OG Retro

Officially previewed during the latest SNKRS Showcase, Nike is bringing back the Zoom Spiridon in its original “Metallic Silver/Black/Sport Red” makeup from 1997.

The colorway most recently saw daylight back in 2016, a release that was followed by sporadic Spiridon drops throughout the late 2010s. Focus then shifted to the Spiridon Cage 2 thanks to a re-introductory Stüssy collaboration, but aside from a one-off Fragment Design collab in 2023, it’s been all quiet on the Spiridon front for the better part of five years.

Given modern consumer’s favorability towards Y2K-era runners turned lifestyle shoes, there’s never been a better time to bring back the OG colorway. To the pleasure of sneaker purists, Nike claims to be tailoring the Holiday 2024 pair to the exact specifications of the original 1997 cut, although hidden performance and comfort upgrades are a possibility. Moreover, the news thrusts the upcoming Travis Scott x Nike Sharkidon back into the newswire. The new Spiridon-inspired La Flame shoe is still expected to drop this year, but we haven’t heard new info about it for months.

In any case, if you’ve been staring down resale prices for the 2016 Spiridon retro, which goes for as much as $400, you won’t have to for much longer. The Spiridon OG “Metallic Silver/Black/Sport Red” is officially returning Holiday 2024. The 2016 pair retailed for $175, but sneakerheads should anticipate a significant bump for this year’s delivery. We’ve yet to hear of a firm MSRP or drop date, so return to our Sneaker Release Dates page while we stay current on our end.
