Jamal Murray’s New Balance TWO WXY V4 “Choco” Takes Aim

This decadent colorway is coming soon.

Jamal Murray’s New Balance TWO WXY V4 “Choco” Takes Aim

Jamal Murray doesn’t have his own signature shoe, but he does have a well-documented preference; the New Balance TWO WXY series. As such, we’ve seen the Boston brand release countless special editions since Murray broke into the league, many of which boast design themes drawn from the Denver Nuggets star’s team, hobbies, and now, nicknames.

The latest Jamal Murray x New Balance TWO WXY V4 is best defined by the moniker “Choco” due to the decadent brown shade that covers the entirety of the upper. It’s accented by a gold foil on the slanted-N logo as well as the the J11 player logo on the heel, a play on Murray’s “Blue Arrow” nickname which was bestowed upon him in college. For context; Jamal Murray used to do a bow-and-arrow celebration after hitting threes for the Kentucky Wildcats, whose uniform color is blue.

New Balance released a more fitting blue version of the Jamal Murray TWO WXY V4 colorway with an matching upper and midsole last month as an exclusive release with Foot Locker. While the “Blue Arrow” pair also featured splattered white paint on the upper, the “Choco” version abides by a classier look with uninterrupted mesh. Additionally, the blue counterpart also had a matching New Balance 2002R; it remains to be seen if NB will be adding a lifestyle component to this follow-up release such as the New Balance 550.

The Jamal Murray New Balance TWO WXY V4 “Choco” has populated on newbalance.com with a release date set for June 17th. The shoes will be available in unisex sizing and retail for $120 a pop.
