Throughout its history of footwear collaborations, Dover Street Market’s rigid adherence to its all-black-everything look has been met with mixed results. With some silhouettes, the stealthy aesthetic is a perfect fit, while for others, it adds next to nothing beyond the DSM ribbon label. Their upcoming Zoom Vomero 5 skews a bit towards the former as the monochromatic murdered-out concept fits well with the tech runner, while a slightly modified shop logo adds a bit of character.

As seen in the images above, Dover Street Market — the premium retailer founded by Comme des Garçons founder Rei Kawakubo — once again applies the flooded black from head to toe. There’s a slight gloss on the exterior overlay, while the Swoosh logo appears slightly fattened compared to the inline Vomero 5s thanks to the double-stacked layering.

The studio images above give you a better look at the overall design and details, namely the altered logo on the tongue and heel that skews the perspective.

While Dover Street Market has not announced a release date for its collaboration, the shoes will be dropping on June 12th at New Zealand retailer Shelflife. If you’re a local, you’ll be able to snag a pair on the morning of the 12th. Everyone else will have to wait for the shoes to drop at Dover Street Market locations worldwide.
