Andrew Rizzo Pride month has quickly become one of the most significant touchpoints in the sneaker industry, as all the biggest brands express their solidarity through vast collections of footwear and apparel. Ahead of June, adidas has released their Pride 2024 collection in full, designed in tandem with Brazilian artist Pabllo Vittar.
Recent years have delivered a host of rainbow sneakers and attire in honor of the occasion, but to the delight of sneakerheads who have come to be exhausted by the same recurring theme, we see very little of that here. As a whole, the collection leans towards the unique and abstract, with chromatic graphics and patterns appearing consistently across its contents. If it weren’t already obvious, a quote by Vittar defines a clear overarching theme; “Life can only be lived once. Don’t be afraid to show who you really are.”
For our purposes, three standout sneakers lead the charge. The adidas Superstar checks in with a groovy midsole/toe pattern, the adidas Gazelle Bold wears a classy all-black outfit with silver stripes, and the adidas Response CL takes a simplistic route with chromatic lining. Adilette Slides and what appears to be a sliver clog are also included in the collection, but no information on the latter has been made public at the time of this writing, and they’re not yet available on adidas.com.
