What’s New With The Sabrina 2
The Nike Sabrina 2 brings in an all-new design while maintaining the low-cut profile that made the Sabrina 1 such a massive hit among basketball players. The mirror finish on the Swoosh is a deliberate choice; it represents the affirmation from Ionescu to the next generation of athletes to see themselves in the shoe.
The Nike Sabrina 2 also breaks new ground in performance technology by being the first-ever Nike basketball shoe with Cushlon 3.0 foam. This foam is contained inside a firm Cushlon foam carrier, while Zoom Air sits at the fore-foot. The band system from the Sabrina 1, which wraps the midfoot, is updated to provide more of a glove-like fit. The herringbone traction is inspired by the letter “S”. Finally, the Sabrina 2comes in 28 grams lighter than its predecessor without compromising performance.
Considering the low-cut design, the Nike Sabrina signature shoe series has been often compared to certain models from Kobe Bryant’s signature shoe line beginning with the Kobe 5. Throughout college and the pros (before getting her own shoe), Ionescu was often seen wearing the Nike Kobe shoes during games.
