KEEN & OnlyNY Bring The UNEEK From Portland to Brooklyn

The two imprints unite for a collaborative sneaker and a release celebration.

KEEN & OnlyNY Bring The UNEEK From Portland to Brooklyn

From the outset, KEEN Footwear has oriented around two major initiatives: personal connection to the outdoors, and safeguarding it in the process. That manifests across their full line of lifestyle, workwear and hiking silhouettes, but one model in particular is in the spotlight for 2024. The KEEN UNEEK is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and the Portland imprint ventured to the Big Apple for a collaboration with OnlyNY.

For those unfamiliar with the Brooklyn-born streetwear brand, their collaborative catalog boasts defining NYC institutions from the MTA to Extra Butter. At first glance, then, the companies are at opposite geographical poles. Yet value-wise, they couldn’t be more aligned. Sharing the same pillars of community and the outdoors, uniting on the 10 year old silhouette was a no-brainer. Under this joint project, the UNEEK was transformed into a daily driver- a sleek greyed-out colorway mirroring the concrete jungle it was (partially) conceived in.

With some help from the Brooklyn Brewery, F&F from both imprints and Brooklynites at large descended on OnlyNY’s Greenpoint flagship. Though of course the purpose was commemorating this shoe in particular, this felt like the first event in a longer timeline for KEEN. OnlyNY is the latest to be added to the brand’s growing catalog of tri-state retailers like KITH and Dover Street Market — safe to say, East Coasters should start getting accustomed to seeing KEENs on a day-to-day.

Limited sizes of the OnlyNY x KEEN UNEEK remain available on OnlyNY.com and at both their LES and Greenpoint retail locations. Expect a wider release via KEEN channels in early May.
