Kobe Bryant’s Hometown Colors Grace The adidas Crazy 8

Red, white, and blue take on the Black Mamba's first signature shoe.

Kobe Bryant’s Hometown Colors Grace The adidas Crazy 8

Kobe Bryant’s legacy continues to inform the direction of retro adidas Basketball releases. The Three Stripes Brand brought back the adidas Crazy 8 in OG fashion in honor of Kobe’s first All-Star selection earlier this year, now tapped once more in a nod to the NBA icon’s east coast roots.

Even though Kobe Bryant never played for his hometown Philadelphia 76ers, his well-documented ties to Philly offer more than enough justification for a special city-edition pair. The shoes feature red, white, and blue coloring in a fitting nod to the City of Brotherly Love, carried by liberal red suede overlays on the upper. Blue hits on the tongue, pull tabs, and outsole serve as the design’s secondary accent, while an abstract rubber midsole completes the palette underfoot.

This delivery resembles adidas’ most evident “Philadelphia” Kobe Bryant shoe in recent memory, a theme also explored in depth by Nike on the upcoming Kobe 4 Protro “Philly” set for Summer 2024. No release date has been set at the time of this writing, so return to our Sneaker Release Dates page for updates as we keep our ears up for more info.
