The Nike Air Max 97 Futura Honors The Past With “Silver Bullet”

The Nike Air Max 97 Futura Honors The Past With “Silver Bullet”

With 2022 marking the 25th Anniversary of the Air Max 97, Nike looked to kicks off the next quarter-century of 97 influence by introducing a completely modified take on the original. Using Christian Tresser’s iconic creation as its base, Nike implemented its “Futura” protocol, enhancing the model with floating overlays, exaggerated proportions, and a refined cut to align with women’s footwear trends.

With several colorways already under its belt, Nike finally honors the OG in the best way possible — a “Silver Bullet” colorway. Revealed here via official images, the Air Max 97 Futura “Silver Bullet” goes tit for tat with the originator by opting for a matte silver upper, light grey mesh base, a touch of red on the Swoosh logo, and a clean white midsole. From afar, these may be mistaken as the standard build without the options, but don’t be fooled…these aren’t your everyday pair of 97s.

This women’s rendition of the Air Max 97 is expected to launch soon on Nike.com; enjoy an official look just ahead.
