Dune Red Hues Take On The Nike Air Max 97

Multiple shades produce an arid look and feel.

Dune Red Hues Take On The Nike Air Max 97

Desert-inspired colorways have accounted for some of the most memorable inline Air Max 97 releases, a fitting design theme given the silhouette’s dune-like wavy overlays. For its next makeup, the Beaverton brand dresses the Air Max mainstay in “Dune Red” coloring reminiscent of clay houses other structures common in desert biomes.

Three different red hues cover the overlays on this installment, transitioning from bright red up top down into maroon just above the mudguard. More maroon coloring appears underfoot, flooding the shoe’s full-length air unit and outsole, while the rest of the shoe keeps things simple with white leather and mesh.

News of this delivery arrives just as Nike unlocks access to the Meg Thee Stallion Air Max 97 Nike By You interface, adding to conversations surrounding the Christian Tresser-designed shoe.
