The “Smokey Mauve” Air Max 90 Futura Arrives In Time For The Valentine’s Day Gifting Season

The spring-ready look for the model eyes a sooner-than-later release ahead of Valentine's Day.

The “Smokey Mauve” Air Max 90 Futura Arrives In Time For The Valentine’s Day Gifting Season

A modernistic refresh on the mainstay, the Air Max 90 Futura is getting a pink-heavy update with its own women’s-only “Smokey Mauve” look.

Consistent with other offshoots of main Nike models, the Air Max 90 Futura silhouette makes good on its title by updating with forward-looking new detail. An offset, draping Swoosh leads the pack in that regard, but structural elements throughout the sneaker bear that same sort of Off-White deconstructionism, like visible and pronounced stitching through the sneaker. Finally, Cactus Jack-esque Nike logos make their way to the shoe in the familiar spots, providing a synergistic nod to the Swoosh’s high-profile endeavors.

In this particular colorway, there’s also a nod to recent, wider-release Nike offerings. The Smokey Mauve shade that lends this pair its name has made its way to the Air Jordan 1, the Air Max 1, and just this week, the Air Max Flyknit Venture. That hue is accented by adjacent shades of hot & pale pink, so though it may not come with the official title, these are a perfect peripheral addition to Nike Valentine’s Day 2024.

If you’re into the festive look, get ’em right now on Nike with an MSRP of $150.
