Nike Offers A Taste Of The Exotic With The Air Force 1 “Blue Ostrich”

Nike really changed the outlook of the Air Force 1 when it added exotic snake-skin to the silhouette in 1996. The possibilities seemed endless, and all it required was a simple selection of material that you wouldn’t typically find on basketball shoes. While that vision was laid out years prior with the Air Jordan 2, it was the Air Force 1 that really carried on that tradition in the 21st century.

Nike’s next exotic upgrade comes by way of ostrich skin, a texture that has had its role with Nike Sportswear in the past. The unique look at feel establishes a luxurious aesthetic in comparison to the sportier, team-based colorways that we’re accustomed to, while the monochromatic royal blue upper elevates the look. White midsoles and gum soles add even more of that lifestyle effect, while golden touches on the tongue complete the look.

Already revealed in a “Gorge Green” colorway months ago, this new take on the “Ostrich” Air Force 1 is set to arrive soon to Nike for $130.

In other upcoming AF1 news, here’s the latest on the Air Force 1 Valentine’s Day.
