The Air Jordan 2 Low “Year Of The Dragon” is confirmed to release on January 24th, 2024. The shoes will carry an MSRP of $!65 and will be women’s exclusive.
2024’s Year of the Dragon celebration is panning out to be one of the biggest for Nike, Inc., as more and more pairs informed by the event continue to surface.
With the new year almost here, the Oregon-based institution keeps teasing (officially and unofficially) styles fit for the change of the Zodiacal calendar. The Air Jordan 2 Low — a silhouette that’s emerged in handfuls of styles over the last fourteen months — is the latest sneaker to join the company’s expansive “Year of the Dragon” plans. As has been the case with previously-seen Nike Sportswear options, the low-top retro opts for a clean color scheme accompanied by overt nods to the event’s focal figure. A white base sets the stage across the upper, but its construction deviates from Bruce Kilgore’s blueprint from the 1980s. Instead, the panel wrapped around the upper from mid-foot to just before the spine features scales inspired by dragons. Piping near the mid-foot opts for a shimmering golden finish, which also lands on the tongue’s “Wings” emblem.
Elsewhere, the Air Jordan model keeps things regal, a fitting update for the festive occasion. Burgundy-colored inner lining takes on a satin-like finish. Top eyelets indulge in a metallic gold tone too, matching the nearby “Wings” logo. Underfoot, midsoles revert to a clean “colorless” arrangement, with traction from mid-foot to forefoot opting for a semi-translucent “jade” makeover. Another special touch arrives in the form of a red envelope and ornate Jumpman charm. Both included components nod to traditional Chinese symbols, bestowing good fortune and warding off evil spirits for all whom are lucky to add the limited retro to their collections.
Firm Nike SNKRS launch details haven’t been disclosed as of this writing, but the Jordan 2 “Year of the Dragon” should release before March 2024. While you wait, enjoy detailed photos of the pair ahead.
For more from the Nike, Inc. empire, the Kobe 9 “Halo” is expected in August 2024.
