The ASICS GT-2160 Readies For The Holidays With Golden Details

A luxurious update to the retro runner.

The ASICS GT-2160 Readies For The Holidays With Golden Details

Although ASICS is occupied with innovating for the future of running, it’s revisited designs like the GT-2160 for lifestyle purposes.

A product of 2011, the ASICS GT-2160 debuted as a budget-friendlier counterpart to the GEL-Kayano 14, the brand’s marquee stability-focused running model. Sleeker in design, the silhouette features all of the design cues that’ve been associated with ASICS, that are currently en vogue: mesh base layers, a heavy use of silver, and a chunky, function-first sole unit. The latest GT-2160 by the Japanese institution keeps things straightforward in terms of color palette, opting for a tried-and-proven formula. Shimmering golden flair, however, appears throughout the upper, contrasting the retro running model’s classic silver, white, and black arrangement. Underfoot, visible GEL-cushioning and other performance components forgo any golden touches in favor of a simple grayscale finish. All together, each aforementioned component preserves the runner’s heritage while delivering a retro aesthetic for a new context.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead. The GT-2160 is set to hit asics.com on Friday, December 8th, for $120 USD.
