Billie Eilish has another Nike Air Alpha Force 88 on the way – this time opting for a bold “Triple-Red” makeover.
Since Summer 2021, the 21-year-old has quietly built a substantial roster of collaborations with the Swoosh. A fan of the under-appreciated, weird, and ugly (her words, not ours), Eilish has kept things interesting across most of her projects thus far. Her first two Alpha Force 88 collaborations, which launched in early August, were barely discernible from the sneaker’s original color schemes. The global superstar’s pairs were stamped with her name and logo and packaged in a different box than standard versions, but were virtually left untouched from 1988. In-hand, however, Eilish’s Nike duo surprised countless sneaker collectors because of its quality – in particular compared to the brand’s general release of the Air Alpha Force 88, a shoe that hadn’t been retrod since the late ’80s.
The newly-surfaced “Triple-Red” pair seems to offer more of the same from the singer’s partnership with Nike. Unlike its predecessors, however, the next drop opts for an all-new color scheme, one that wouldn’t have flown in its debut era. Everything from the lockdown strap across the vamp to the Air Jordan 2-like outsole is covered in ruby-colored flair. All-red makeovers aren’t new – having gained popularity in the 2010s and culminating in the release of Kanye West’s Nike Air Yeezy II “Red October” in 2014 – but haven’t been in vogue for almost a decade. The artist’s star power, however, could revitalize the bold color scheme, leading the way for a whole new wave of eye-catching footwear.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead. Billie Eilish’s “Triple-Red” Alpha Force 88 is rumored to drop via Nike SNKRS in December for $130 USD.
