fragment design Could Revisit The Nike Air Force 1 In 2024

Hiroshi Fujiwara could be revisiting the Nike Air Force 1 via his fragment design label next year.

No stranger to Bruce Kilgore’s iconic design from the 1980s, the Japanese streetwear pioneer has previously brought his brand’s signature thunder bolt logos to the model. Last time fragment co-signed the Air Force 1 Low, however, it did so with an assist from Edison Chen’s CLOT, which severed ties with Nike, Inc. in mid-October. Photos of two previously-unseen styles by Fujiwara have started up the rumor mill, which already includes a fragment Zoom Spiridon for 2024.

As with other joint-efforts, the unreleased pairs opt for simple (some may say boring) makeups. Classic “White-on-White” and “All-Black” finishes take on the co-branded fragment Air Force 1 duo. Neither party involved has officially confirmed nor denied the project, but the shoes fall in line with the Japanese imprint’s aesthetic. It’s likely that the sneakers consist of a slightly-modified shape and elevated materials relative to the standard Air Force 1. In terms of obvious differences, the latest takes on Kilgore’s “presidential” basketball shoe feature two thunder bolts stamped onto the lateral heel; “FRGMT” lettering joins typical “AIR” text on the midsole.

Enjoy an early look at the pairs ahead, as you wait for official Nike SNKRS launch details. Fujiwara’s AF-1 is likely priced at $160 USD to coincide with other high-profile collaborations.
