TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO’s New Balance 610S Debuts Globally On November 17th

A wider release than Aminé's "Mini Mooz" slip-ons.

TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO’s New Balance 610S Debuts Globally On November 17th

The TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO by New Balance has been churning out unconventional, refreshing offerings since 2018. For its latest proposal, the Japan-based cohort has reimagined the NB 610T “it” shoe as a slip-on.

Unveiled with the help of Aminé and his limited-to-503-pairs “Mini Mooz” collaboration, the New Balance 610S (the “s” is for slip-on) is ready for a permanent spot in the brand’s lineup. Informed by a trail sneaker launched in 2012 that’s recently been revived by Yue Wu, Footwear Designer at New Balance Lifestyle, the slip-on version delivers a refined aesthetic in line with other projects from the TDS. The silhouette’s upper combines design elements from the archival NB 422 and 610, creating a healthy intersection of outdoor functionality and fashion. Inaugural “Concrete” and “Outer Space” color schemes nod to the New Balance Rainier‘s original finishes from 1982, while also touching on common New Balance color palettes. All together, each aforementioned component helps deliver a boundary-pushing offering that blurs the line between casual and performance wear.

Enjoy detailed photos of both laceless styles ahead. Tokyo Design Studio’s 610S releases via newbalance.com globally on Friday, November 17th, for $130 USD.
