The Nike Air Max 1 Golf “Sport Royal” Brings Running Heritage To The Green

Another take on Tinker Hatfield's iconic running design.

The Nike Air Max 1 Golf “Sport Royal” Brings Running Heritage To The Green

The Nike Air Max 1 Golf has allowed the Oregon-based brand to bring its expansive legacy to the green over the last decade.

The Swoosh continues to explore new takes on the Tinker Hatfield’s modified design, but it keeps delivering the golf-ready update in heritage-rooted styles. The latest arrives in the form of a “Sport Royal”-accented ensemble, which nods to the original “Deep Royal” pair from the late 1980s. (Over the years, the “yang” to the iconic “University Red” style’s “yin” has returned for special occasions.) Construction across the upper maintains a one-to-one resemblance of Hatfield’s legendary blueprint, bringing breathable mesh and suede to the forefront. The titular tone appears via the profile swooshes and mudguards, bringing eye-catching flair to the Air Max 1 Golf “Sport Royal”; branding on the tongue label and spine also follow suit.

Underfoot, the reworked Air Max design boasts a big bubble, referencing its original design once more. The clear component is surrounding by “White” EVA foam that promises comfort across 18 holes. Waffle-patterned outsoles bring Nike Running heritage to the modern era, delivering a reliable tooling solution for the golf course visually less aggressive than Air Jordan Golf options.

Enjoy official photos of the Air Max 1 Golf “Sport Royal” ahead, and anticipate a nike.com launch soon. The pair is priced at $150 USD.
