KENZO Debuts First Sneaker Under NIGO’s Creative Direction

NIGO‘s departure from A BATHING APE was just the beginning of a brand new legacy. In addition to founding yet another successful label — namely, Human Made — the streetwear legend has gone on to work with the likes of Louis Vuitton and will soon even reconcile with Nike. His appointment as Creative Director of KENZO, however, is arguably more significant, as NIGO is the first Japanese designer to take up the mantle since Kenzo Takada’s retirement in 1999.

Two years and three collections later, KENZO is proud to debut their first-ever sneaker under NIGO’s creative direction. Dubbed the KENZO-Dome, the silhouette incorporates the Japanese designer’s love of retro classics, drawing heavy inspiration from ’90s skate culture and the shoes synonymous with the era. Even the name of the model itself is a reference, borrowed from “The Dome,” a renowned skate park located on grounds of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.

Available in a host of colorways for both men and women alike, the KENZO-Dome is available right now at the KENZO.com as well as the label’s storefronts, retailing for $350 USD.

In other news, an early look at the upcoming Craig Green adidas E5 was recently leaked.
