Jovani Hernandez Founded in 2015 and based in Tokyo, AURALEE has been lending its creative direction to a handful of New Balance projects over the years.
In recent memory, the brand with a penchant for understated luxury has taken a liking to the NB XC-72. The silhouette has maintained relative obscurity, but shares design cues with the Japanese label’s latest collaboration: two pairs of the New Balance RC30.
Similar to past joint-efforts with the New England institution, AURALEE’s newest footwear linkup enjoys a uniform finish across its upper. Premium suede takes on either “Hunter Green” or “Tan” colors that fit in with the spring season. Branding on the tongue and sidewalls is barely discernible, but old school outsoles deviate from the top-halves. “Black” and “Gum Brown” looks round out each NB RC-30 by the Ryota Iwai-founded imprint.
