Yohji Yamamoto’s mainline collections are rife with all-black tailoring; adidas Y-3, on the other hand, is not quite as achromatic, with bright hues and patterns marking apparel and footwear alike. And for the long-running sub-label’s latest collection, they’ve dressed the Hokori II in a colorway made up of white and orange.
Building off one of the Trefoil’s basketball icons, the Rivalry, the Hokori II is relatively understated in construction, opting for tumbled leather through much of its upper. Here, this material, the floating mesh stripes, and the trappings adjacent are clad in a bright white, complementing the cream midsole just below. And it’s there that the pops of orange also come into the play, applied to the mold embedded into the both the lateral and medial sidewalls.

In other news, the Nike Kobe 6 Prelude is rumored to return.
