Michael Le So far, 2022’s batch of Air Jordan 1s is slightly more interesting from the year past. Retros and Retro-likes are fewer and farther between, replaced by more original designs. The upcoming women’s exclusive “Varsity Red” is but what one example as it adds an extra layer of texture to a common Jordan Brand palette.
Revealed in the flesh for the first time since its unveil, the shoe sports a standard leather construction through the upper. Thick, robust panels of red outfit the toe, eye stay, ankle flaps, and counter, wrapping over top a white base and grey collar. And much like the laces and tread, the Swoosh is colored the titular hue, though it does with a chenille commonly found on letterman jackets.
Enjoy a quick look at the pair right here. Previously, these were rumored to be on the way for February 4th, but that may have changed as there was no mention of the colorway in the Spring 2022 preview.
Speaking of red, the Air Jordan 1 Low Golf Chicago barely looks like a golf shoe.
