As sneaker heads old and new begin to brace themselves for what’ll surely be an amazing 2022, the Swoosh has begun offering official looks at some of the in-line styles that’ve been prepped for the Nike Air Force 1‘s 40th anniversary.
While not the exact arrangement found on a few recently-seen Nike Dunks, the newly-surfaced pair also indulges in a purposely-“aged” aesthetic. Synthetic leather construction across the upper and EVA foam at the midsoles maintain a pristine all-“White” makeup, but their supporting accents boast a chipped, almost eroded look that nods to sneakers that’ve been sitting in storage for decades. Profile swooshes and tread – which both opt for spring-ready pink flair – are given a “vintage” treatment, while branding on the tongue label and top heel overlay also harken to the past via their groovy font.
