While New Balance is best known for its lifestyle silhouettes and performance runners, the NB Basketball line has been receiving much attention recently thanks to models such as the New Balance 550 and an impressive roster of collaborators including Kawhi Leonard. By combining retro basketball styles with newer lifestyle-ready design cues and comfort technologies, the New Balance BB9000 will soon be releasing two sleek colorways that embrace the “dad shoe” aesthetic NB is often noted for.
The new offerings consist of an off-white “Moonbeam” pair and a triple-black arrangement. A tonal mix of mesh and suede for the upper delivers a premium look. To elevate the style even further, reptile embossed leather overlays are applied to the toe and heel. This sleek base sits on top of a trendy, translucent rubber sole that uses FuelCell cushioning to bring performance-level comfort. To offset all the aforementioned modern elements, the tongue opts for a retro look as it opts for an exposed foam design and features the archive New Balance Basketball logo printed atop.
Enjoy official images of the BB9000s below, which will hit newbalance.com on July 15 with a price tag of $140.
