Nike’s Space Hippie 04 proves that trash can be a treasure, as the brand states that over a quarter of the innovative silhouette’s weight is made from recycled material. Keeping the environment in mind, a new Cactus Flower colorway is on its way, dressed in varying violet hues.
The woven grayish-purple uppers are made of “Space Waste Yarn”—Nike’s material of plastics and cloth scraps. For a futuristic look as suggested by the silhouette’s space theme, the lacing is done via eyestays that are woven into the uppers. The white Crater Foam midsole is speckled with dark shades of blacks and violets for more touches of color inspired by the cactus flower plant. Without compromising style and comfort, the model is one of the brand’s lowest carbon-footprint drops.
The Space Hippe will be available at Nike.com on December 8th. In other Swoosh-related news, get a first look at the upcoming Nike Dunk Low “BHM”.
