Being a member of the Jordan Brand family usually means a few things: Your game has received the stamp of approval by greatest player to ever set foot on the hardwood, you get to represent Michael Jordan through your own respective sport, you’d receive retros galore, among other things. On occasion, especially for NBA athletes listed on the Jumpman roster, they’ll receive their own specially-made player exclusives. And that’s the case for Rui Hachimura — 6’8 rookie for the Washington Wizards. Following right behind the unveiling of fellow brand member Zion Williamson’s coloring book-inspired PE, Hachimura’s heritage-inspired Air Jordan 34 PEs have now revealed themselves by way of official imagery.
Representative of the small forward’s Japanese and Beninese background, these hoops shoes split their decorations between each foot. On the right side, the throat and heel overlays feature cherry blossom and cloud-like graphics nodding to his Japan ancestry, while the right side deviates with multi-colored interwoven patterns in which draw influence from African textile patterns. Additionally, the tongues split between Hachimura’s signature logo on the right, and standard Jumpman logo on the left. Peep more images here ahead, and stay tuned to find out if these will eventually see a public release on Nike.com.
