Vans Frankensteins The Classic Era And Sk8-Hi With Oversized Features And Chaotic Layers

Vans Frankensteins The Classic Era And Sk8-Hi With Oversized Features And Chaotic Layers

Vans is undoubtedly unafraid to reframe their classics, with the Sk8-Hi and Era often arriving with many a modified accent, missing component, or flipped construction. With the imprint’s latest — dubbed appropriately as the “Stacked Collection” — those two iconic silhouettes are set to arrive with Frankenstein’d sole units akin to some of the best deconstructive aesthetics that we’ve seen walk the runway. Slightly more contemporary than the rest, both of the uppers are left untouched, arriving in schemes quite colorful though with no overt modifications. Bottoms, however, make up for that in spades: checkerboard prints sit behind layers of translucent synthetics while protruding bumpers come speckled with rainbow tones. Even ripple soles in smooth gum ornament the outsole, creating a look that is effectively bold in all the right places.
