Foamposite Reaches The Tennis Court With This Nike Vapor X Hybrid

Foamposite Reaches The Tennis Court With This Nike Vapor X Hybrid

Nike is bringing the worlds of basketball and tennis together in many a unique fashion this year. After calling upon the mutual Australian heritage of Kyrie Irving and tennis pro Nick Kyrgios for a Kyrie 5-styled Vapor X, the Swoosh Brand is now looking to the classic Foamposite One for tennis inspiration. A shoe that’s intricately connected with Penny Hardaway’s on-court exploits in the ’90s is now getting a turn on playing surfaces of a different nature, as images of a Foamposite/Vapor X hybrid that features the One’s classic royal blue colorway have surfaced. Although the Vapor X’s low-profile Zoom Air midsole is present, the rest of the shoe is almost all Foamposite, with the instantly recognizable synthetic shell upper, lacing system, and carbon fiber midfoot plate all making an appearance. Even the branding gets in on the hybrid stylings, as NikeCourt logos on the tongue and heel arrive in place of Penny’s normal “One Cent” graphics. Get a look at these interesting hybrid tennis/hoops shoes below, and stay tuned for further updates as they’re available.
