After being teased for what seems like an eternity, contemporary artist and Snarkitecture founder Daniel Arsham‘s adidas Futurecraft 4D finally has an official drop date this October. Known for his sculptures, installations, and drawings that offer an interesting take on architectural distortion, Arsham’s usually tonal work is instantly recognizable — and he’s brought that same aesthetic to his most recent footwear collaboration. The Futurecraft midsole’s signature “Aero Green” color is utilized on the upper as well, giving the shoe a single-colored aesthetic that harkens to Arsham’s other creations. The midfoot’s Three Stripe branding is almost completely invisible, seemingly replaced by a small patch towards the heel that serves an aesthetic purpose as a heel cage of sorts. Flecked laces add a touch of detailing to the otherwise-monochromatic upper, and a durable Continental rubber outsole completes the look. Expect Arsham’s new adidas shoes to release October 12 on adidas.com and at select Three Stripes stockists in very limited quantities for $450 USD.
