Shaquille O’neal announced his retirement yesterday, giving his fans the first-hand message through a TwitVid. It was by no means an official press conference, but Shaq is a man who makes firm statements and does what he can to stick by them. The four-time NBA champion and one-time MVP (a number that some argue should be greater) leaves behind a career filled with utter low-post dominance and unparalleled charisma. Beginning his career with the Orlando Magic, Shaq spent his final season with the Boston Celtics, adopting the ‘Big Shamrock’ moniker, and had the Celtics reached the NBA Finals, a healthy Shaq would have worn this Li-Ning PE called the’Big Shamrock’, featuring a white/green/dark grey colorway and a Superman x Shamrock logo on the upper ankle of the shoe. Unfortunately, Shaq never got a opportunity to wear these PEs and no longer will he get to lace up sneakers on an NBA court (barring an improbable comeback), but something tells us his TwitVid isn’t the last of Shaquille O’neal (Shaq and Barkley hosting NBA on TNT?). Check out Shaq’s PE after the jump and let us know what your favorite all-time Shaq moment is. via sina.
