Kerry Washington attended the ACLU SoCal Bill Of Rights dinner held in Los Angeles yesterday. Beyond Washington, other notable attendees included Brittney Griner, Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, among others.
Reaching new heights, the “Scandal” actress sported a pair of lofty black platform heels when presenting Griner with an award. Washington wore the Aquazzura’s So High Plateau 140 Satin Platform Pumps in black. Akin to styles from brands like Versace and Prada, the star’s footwear choice included shiny black satin uppers accompanied by triangular pointed toes and thick platform soles.
Thin straps wrapped around Washington’s ankles and behind her heels, situating the shoe style in place. 4 to 5-inch block heels rounded out the set, aptly lengthening the thespian’s silhouette.

Valentino, Steve Madden, Michael Kors, Miu Miu and Faye also feature styles similar to Washington’s own. The satin uppers created textural interest while the block heels further elevated the silhouette physically and metaphorically. Platform styles like Washington’s are often utilized by those vertically challenged stars in Hollywood to create the illusion of length and height. Ariana Grande, Florence Pugh and Sofia Vergara all utilize this styling trick.
Getting dainty, the “Little Man” star sported a bow-embellished mini dress. The piece included a strappy bodice fixed with a large ornate bow dotted with high-shine rhinestones. The garment was crafted of a shiny champagne-colored fabric.
Washington’s style versatility has led to several memorable looks through the years since she took over Hollywood. While on her current press junket for “UnPrisoned” in New York, Washington has been flexing her fashion chops, popping on a variety of colorful pumps and platforms in a formal nature.
