Skechers is adding to its athlete roster once again with the signing of former Cardinals and Angels star Albert Pujols as its latest brand ambassador.
According to the Los Angeles-based footwear brand, the two-time world champion and future Hall of Famer known as “La Máquina” will star in Spanish-language campaigns designed to educate on Skechers’ Hands-Free Slip-in shoes.
“After 22 years on the field, I’m ready to take it easy, so these amazing shoes from Skechers that I can put on without any effort are exactly what I need,” Pujols, said in a statement. “I’m excited to be part of the Skechers team.”
“With his legendary performance at the plate over a storied decades-long career, Albert Pujols is beloved by fans from Los Angeles to St. Louis and throughout the Caribbean and Americas—making him the perfect ambassador to share our Skechers Hands Free Slip-ins campaign with Spanish-speaking markets,” Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers, added. “He’s part of our strategy to ensure that every consumer around the world understands how easy it is to just slip in and go with this signature Skechers innovation.”
Pujols joins Skechers team of global ambassadors like music icon Snoop Dogg, lifestyle legend Martha Stewart, stage and screen star Ashley Park, and a slate of former professional athletes including Tony Romo, Howie Long, and Sugar Ray Leonard.

In February, Skechers reported sales in line with its expectations for the fourth quarter and full year of 2023, but reported a slowdown in its wholesale channels. The company reported Q4 sales of $1.96 billion, up 4.4 percent compared to the prior year. For the full-year of 2023, Skechers achieved a record annual revenue of $8 billion, up 7.5 percent from the prior year and in line with its most recently provided outlook.
