The Latest In Food/Sneaker Collabs: Sweet Chick x Fila Cage Chicken & Waffles

Fila’s latest collaboration is finger licking good.
The sportswear brand took inspiration off the menu from the popular chicken and waffles joint Sweet Chick for a special edition of its Cage men’s high-top sneakers that debuted April 5.
The design features the New York City restaurant’s logo and the words “chicken” and “waffles” on the suede kicks in maroon and tan. Available exclusively at eatery’s Brooklyn and Lower East Side locations, it retails for $80 but is currently sold out.
Still, chicken and waffles isn’t off the plate for sneakerheads who are hungry for some sole food.
Nike’s SB Dunk High Premium Waffle kicks feature a waffle woven fabric exterior with syrup dripping down the Swosh logo. Released April 2, the $110 footwear is available on Nike’s website, where the label explains that the design pays a nod to the “favorite meal of a number of Nike SB pros.”

Taking inspiration for its colorway from “grandpa’s tastiest candy,” the J.Crew X New Balance 997 Butterscotch collaboration dropped March 12. The premium brown and beige suede kicks retail for $210, available online and at J. Crew stores with special candy-filled packaging.
Junk food staples are adorned on the Sneakersnstuff x Puma XT2 Pizza & Burgers line and Van’s Late Night Collection.
Puma’s tanned leather sneakers include laser-etched burgers, pizzas, fries and sodas on the upper and a cream-colored sole. Released March 12, the kicks are available exclusively from Sneakersnstuff’s website and retail stores for $149.
Vans Late Night Collection—available in slip-on, Authentic and Sk8-Hi silhouettes—includes similar savory snacks and graphics of sweets like cupcakes and macaroons. Launched in January, the prices range from $55 to $70 on the brand’s website.
